Movement is Life seeks to eliminate racial, ethnic, and gender disparities through community based programs, clinician education, and health policy advocacy. Join us in breaking the vicious cycle that fuels health disparities!
Movement is Life is a multidisciplinary coalition seeking to eliminate racial, ethnic, and gender disparities by promoting movement, which improves individuals’ overall health and quality of life. Movement is Life’s work places a special focus on African American, Latina, and rural women in underserved communities.
We meet people where they are, transforming local spaces into hubs of health and connection. By fostering grassroots leadership, we ensure our programs are culturally resonant and sustainable.
We equip healthcare providers with the tools to recognize and address the social determinants of health. Our goal is to shift the clinical conversation from “what is the matter” to “what matters to you.”
Movement is a right, not a privilege. We advocate for systemic changes and policy shifts that dismantle the structural barriers preventing underserved communities from living active, healthy lives.
The 2026 Movement is Life Annual Summit is a national convening of diverse leaders, healthcare professionals, changemakers, and community voices committed to dismantling health disparities and advancing equity, together.
Operation Change (OC) is a FREE community-based program that improves mobility, reduces joint pain, and enhances quality of life for women 40 and older, living with chronic conditions that limit movement. The program combines evidence-based education, culturally responsive physical activity, and peer-led support, and has been successfully implemented in urban, suburban, and rural communities across the United States.
